Gawker Media compromised

Gawker Media`s security has been breached this weekend leaving nearly 1.25 million accounts, 500`000 e-mail addresses and 185`000 passwords vulnerable. Gawker Media websites include Gawker, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Deadspin, io9 and Fleshbot.

Why should this concern you? Because a CB contest (around the start of Phase 1) was held which involved posting a comment on Kotaku, a Gawker Media website.

If you registered for posting or didn`t use Facebook Connect to log into Kotaku, it`s best to assume that your data has been leaked.
We recommend changing your password IMMEDIATLY!

Duo Security put together a simple tool to find out if you got "gawkered" or not. But even if your result turns out to be negative, you should play safe and change your password anyways. (This tool is officially approved by Gawker Media)
